The City Nature Challenge Luxembourg 2022 is coming up soon !

Get yourself ready to record biodiversity form anywhere in Luxembourg between April 29 and May 2.

The City Nature Challenge is an international event where people find and document wild plants and animals across the globe. Over 400 regions are taking part in this year’s City Nature Challenge !

There is nature all around us, even in our cities ! Knowing what species are in our city and where they are helps us study and protect them, but the ONLY way to do that is by all of us - scientists, land managers, and the community - working together to find and document the nature in our area. By participating in the City Nature Challenge, not only do you learn more about your local nature, but you can also make your city a better place - for you and other species !

The National Museum of Natural History Luxembourg, organiser of the event in Luxembourg is happy to announce that numerous partners will support the CNC in Luxembourg this year : SICONA, SIAS, Minett UNESCO Biosphere, Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall, Naturpark Our, Naturpark Öewersauer, LIST, Framework, IMS, Bee Together and natur&ëmwelt Sektioun Stad.

Globally, the City Nature Challenge is organized by the citizen science teams at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences.

It is very easy to participate in the City Nature Challenge ! Just install the iNaturalist app on your smartphone and upload your photos.

How does it work ?

1. Look for wild plants anywhere in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
2. Take a photo of your discovery : remembering the location of your sighting.
3. Share your observations : use the iNaturalist app to upload your discovery.
