TK Elevator maximizes operational efficiency at Zayed International Airport
TK Elevator supplies Terminal A, one of the largest terminals in the world, with more than 200 mobility units and a MAX Monitor & Control system. TK Elevator improves passengers’ experience and supports the increased demand for seamless digitized travel.
TK Elevator is providing the new state-of-the-art ’Terminal A’ at Zayed International Airport (Abu Dhabi) with 106 Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs), 93 Advanced Visual Docking Guidance Systems (A-VDGS) and an MAX Monitor & Control system. The digital solution MAX Monitor & Control features a unique combination of live airport visualization with real-time information and control. Advanced interfaces to any IT system or equipment can be fully customized according to every airport’s needs. In addition to being the main supplier of mobility units at the new terminal, TK Elevator also signed a full maintenance contract with the airport, thus ensuring smooth operation for years to come.
Covering 742,000 m2 of built-up area, Terminal A is one of the largest airport terminals in the world. Equipped with the latest technologies, the terminal adds an architectural landmark to Abu Dhabi’s cityscape with its’ imposing and memorable architecture. Since starting operations in early November 2023, Terminal A now has the capability to double the airport’s current passenger and cargo capacity. It will accommodate up to 45 million passengers per year, be able to process 11,000 travellers per hour and operate 79 aircrafts at any given time. TK Elevator’s large range of solutions contributes significantly to this enhanced airport operation efficiency and ensures a seamless passenger experience during arrivals and departures.

TK Elevator has already been the supplier of choice for the other terminals of the prestigious Zayed International Airport. There are more than 250 TK Elevator mobility solutions installed, including 130 PBBs and 150 A-VDGS, with an additional 20 set to be installed in the coming months. The A-VDGS amplify the airport’s safety by guiding pilots by means of visual signals from the taxiway to the stop position on the airport apron, while the PBBs ensure a comfortable passenger experience.
