Head of Airline Sales (m/f)
Main duties :
- In charge of the Business Development, including launch of new routes and new products & services
- Responsible for the sales distribution strategy and the selection and weight of the adequate distribution channels (corporate and leisure travel agencies, corporate contracts, digital) (digital : direct via Luxair web & indirect via On Line Travel Agencies, Metasearch, …)
- Set up the partnership and alliance strategy with other airlines (code-share, …)
- Implement the sales strategy and build successful commercial partnerships for the following channels : corporate travel agencies and corporate contracts
- Be the voice of our customers and responsible for addressing the customers concerns early in the sales process
- Accelerate the digital transformation of sales distribution channels (leisure and corporate) and monitor and observe the brand and markets forecasts, identifying new trends ahead of the curve
- Be responsible for the vendor management of GSA and GDS providers (acquisition, negotiation, management and invoicing)
- Closely cooperate with different stakeholders (e.g. Revenue Management, e-commerce, Marketing, Network, Project Management, LuxairTours counterpart) in matters of strategic and tactical product and service positioning
- Manage, plan and lead the dedicated team and track the sales team metrics
Required profile :
Minimum required criteria :
- 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role and for an Airline or a Tour Operator
- Provide a master degree in marketing, communication, economics or equivalent or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrate a strong understanding in sales gained in an airline and/or tour operating environment with the willingness to pick up new skills and knowledge of latest strategy & tactics
- Have strong expertise in stakeholder relationships and in developing a network
- Have strong expertise in analytics
- Have strong expertise in digital sales activities
- Show proven ability to analyze and problem solving coupled with the ability to work and innovate in a strong competitive environment
- Demonstrate good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and to take decision
- Show excellent negotiation skills
- Have strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Be familiar with standard office applications
- Be team oriented and show ability to work transversely and in a collaborative mode
- Show entrepreneurial flair, not afraid to wear multiple hats
- Be convincing and can create adhesion to his ideas
- Show excellent language skills in English as well as skills in French and/or German (spoken and written)
Desired or to be acquired criteria :
- Be able to switch from operational to strategic subjects and handle various subjects/projects at same time
- Be capable of driving changes in a fast evolving environment
- Show the capacity to work under pressure, to meet deadlines and deal with unforeseen and urgent issues
- Ability to handle personally and manage a team in periods of heavy workload and time pressures
- Be capable of working independently as well as in a team
- Be open-minded and solution oriented
The ideal candidate :
- Knowledge of Luxemburgish or any other language is considered as an asset
