Assistant to Manager Production Shops (m/f)

Task Responsibilities :

  • Monitor and control the daily activities of the Production shops
  • Co-ordinates the Production shop support of hangar maintenance activities and component maintenance activities for Cargolux and customers
  • Assists the Manager Production to plan and ensure adequate staff, tooling and facilities are available and suitable for the shops to meet commercial objectives and fulfil legal requirements
  • Assists the Manager Production to expand third party component work
  • In the absence of the Manager has overall responsibility for the Production department
  • Assists in the development of processes to achieve and maintain the required quality standards
  • The position holder is responsible for the adherence to all legal requirements and company policies when executing his duties
  • Assist in the risk evaluation of the working environment, the work processes and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure Production staff adheres to all safety and health policies and procedures
  • Assists in audits by internal and external authorities and in closing the resulting findings

Essential Requirements For The Position :

  • Minimum Diploma as Technician or equivalent ; university or other advanced studies are a distinct advantage
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in an aircraft/component maintenance or maintenance support environment
  • A B1/B2 license is considered an advantage
  • Experience in planning and managing human resources
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, being assertive
  • Be resistant to pressure
  • Able to work independently
  • Result orientated, willingness to change, loyal to colleagues and management, team player
  • Able to take decisions and instruct staff to do tasks
  • Dealing effectively with complexity and having good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office and ERP software TRAX
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, any other language will be considered as an advantage

Working Conditions :

  • The position demands a regular and full-time presence. Vacation and other absences should be planned in a way that they do not conflict with service requirements
  • A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of a positive selection
  • Position based in Luxembourg and occasional travel may be required
  • Due to specific nature of the position within the company, the position holder might have to work outside the normal working schedule and/or working days
